During our chocolate workshop, children and adults can make their own artisanal chocolate with cocoa seeds coming directly from the finca 😋
Because chocolate is a much richer and more precious food than any sweet, we will discuss the history and benefits of this ancient product that our ancestors called “Comida de los Dioses” (the food of God). We’ll also see the whole process of going from simple raw beans to a bar of delicious chocolate! Here at Casa Del Cacao, we will explain each step to you with many things to awaken your taste buds and help you discover chocolate in its smallest details!
Workshop duration: 75 minutes
language: French, Spanish or English, it’s up to you!
Included: 2 drinks (1 hot chocolate + 1 cold cocoa drink), and of course you leave with your homemade chocolate bar!
Objective of the workshop
- Become aware of the importance of cocoa and its health benefits, but also of its interest in history and today.
- Distinguish the differences between natural cocoa, artisanal chocolate and conventional chocolate (presentation of the cocoa bean, “semillas”, cocoa pastes, etc.).
- Learn how to manipulate cocoa to convert it into chocolate.
- Tasting of drinks and chocolate beans at each stage.
With this workshop, discover how chocolate bars are made, from collecting the cocoa beans to final production. For $35 per adult (and only $20 per child ((<15 years), and free for children under 5!), learn how to make a product with one of the best cocoa in the world and get your own bar!
All our chocolate comes from organic farming that respects the ambient environment and the working conditions of Costa Rican farmers. We shape each piece as a work of art and honor the delicious cocoa from our suppliers.
